Using the SWIFTQUILTER TEMPLATE RULER ROLLER GLIDE

To attach the roller use your Juki screwdriver or the key in your Juki tools.
Slide the E clip off and insert through the needle hole in either the ¼" or 1/5" Hopping foot
Replace the E clip to hold the roller in place
Wind most of the top pressure off the foot so the blue marker bar is at the top of the window.
(The same as for all quilting).
To help overcome the pressure on the machine bed when you are pressing on the template or ruler wipe some silicone onto the machine bed around the needle plate etc.

Silicone is available from hardware shops or car accessory shop as a spray or some car polishes are as good.
The ruler or template may tend to want to move so double side tape some of the grip mat to the underside in 2 or 3 places.
To retrieve bobbin thread. Have the presser foot up. Hold the top thread and push the up/down button (twice) and let the machine do one cycle.

Use a thin ruler, screw driver or scissors to wipe under the roller so the loop comes out to the side, pull some through then carry on as normal
To use a template or ruler simply put against the roller.
The roller is ½"diameter or ¼" radius so lines can be spaced using the roller.
If using as a guide for stitch in the ditch place the ruler evenly ¼" away from the ditch and it is easier drawing the machine towards you.
If not using a template just remove the E clip and take the roller out replace the E clip so it wont be lost.
Normal 1/8 thick rulers or templates will work well but thick plywood ones wont allow the full 360 movement as they will hit the stem at the rear.
The 3" wide rulers used for cutting are easier to use as you have room to hold it away from the needle
Template may be stuck on with masking tape so they dont move when guiding around
